Well it’s that first Thursday of a month, so it was an XXL episode of A State of Trance (ASOT). ASOT 151 XXL. Guest DJ was Marco V, who was voted #15 in the top DJs of 2003. (Armin van Buuren, the weekly host of ASOT, was voted #3) Anyway, first two hours of ASOT were really nice. Then Marco V comes along with the XXL mix and special. I respect him for being a great DJ, but I don’t like what he likes for the crowd, really: progressive house and maybe some almost-tech prog house.

Grabbed the tracklist off the tranceaddict ASOT 151 thread. ID, by the way, means that the song hasn’t been identified.

While I listened to ASOT, I was in #armind at irc.webchat.org, which has a user limit of about 70 during regular ASOT but around 95 during ASOT XXL. There are a lot of cool trance people there (of course). 8 Wonders, Filo & Peri, Haak, Airbase, etc. I actually got a response from Airbase. He’s a cool guy. ;D During ASOT, however, Armin himself comes in as Armin_IDT (ID&T is the company that has ID&T Radio, the internet radio that ASOT is directly streamed to). Armin usually doesn’t talk, but for some reason, Armin asked if anyone wanted cake towards the beginning of hour one. Everyone said things like “HI ARMIN,” etc. He doesn’t talk much still. But I did get a response from him at one point, and he also did play Vadim Zhukov - Exit after I had requested Vadim Zhukov a few times (although he was probably going to play it anyway since it’s a fresh song that everyone loves). This is what I said to Armin and what he said to me:

Not much, but hey, he never talks. ;D I feel somewhat honored. Haha. Go Armin! Great sets you spun today. Marco V, you get (almost) the same credits since although I don’t personally like what you play, great mixing, and many people like your stuff anyway.

I also made sure I ripped the entire ASOT myself this time (and in 192 too), although there are some skips from buffers. I’ll redownload it in a while. So I’m listening to hour one of it..
