Stop the Spam!
This article on BBC News yesterday discusses how email spam has grown because of the large amount of people who actually click on the links. Spamming is cheap and efficient. Spammers spam for free (pretty much) and get a decent amount of returns.
According to a survey conducted by security firm Mirapoint and market research company the Radicati Group, nearly a third of e-mail users have clicked on links in spam messages.
One in ten users have bought products advertised in junk mail.
So, if you didn’t know already, spammers keep going because we keep clicking, or at least many people do. If you want to stop spammers from spamming you, the best way is to probably alert those you know who are prone to clicking on the URLs in those emails. There is a chance of winning the war against spam (at least in the realm of emails) once the money to be made dissappears.
