Music Performances at Rice

Categories: Everything, Music, School

I’ve been meaning to write this for a while, but I’ve also been really busy—finals start tomorrow. In any case…

Music at Rice (the Shepherd School) is fairly well known, but a lot of non-musi’s are going to think, “What does that have to do with me?” Well, if you appreciate music, or if you like to play piano or something, it means a lot. Besides using the practice rooms with lots of Steinways, there are recitals and performances every week. And to keep informed, Rice students are generally on a a lot of mailing lists, including one specifically for a list of Shepherd events every week. These performances are generally free, and the ones that are not are generally pretty cheap.

So, I encourage everybody to take advantage of these awesome opportunities to hear and appreciate some of the best musical talent in the country. And if you’re considering Rice, this is definitely worth putting in your decision equation.

Back to studying for finals (or something like that).
