		<description>&lt;p&gt;I do believe that we are in for a world of pain.  Actually, the whole world is in for a lot of pain. There are some pretty serious ripple effects that will start hitting the world in these couple months.  Before the crisis, people were already spending all they had (encouraged by the president), so we'll all fall pretty hard.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It took a depression to teach the current world's elderly about frugality and the value of money.  I'm a little concerned that we won't learn much from this crisis.  I'll shut up when tv shows glorify frugality instead of conspicuous consumption.  (Of course, this is a hard sell when their advertisers want conspicuous consumption.)&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;There's a lot that the free market is terrible at, and the government can really help in those cases (I think this is one of them).&lt;/p&gt;
