GMMS, and the end of November

You wouldn’t understand the meaning of GMMS unless you’re in my CCD class, but… GoYar Mubar Miga Sticker

Yeah. It was the starting phrase of the telephone game we played, but of course, after the first person the phrase was completely changed, and it underwent a few more major changes before becoming something like “something overalls” at the end.

Anyway, today is November 30, and that means we’re about to take a deep plunge into the last month of the year, December. This means teachers at school will give us more homework and studying than usual in order to catch up with their own syllabi. This also means in two weeks, we will be taking semester finals, followed by a couple weeks of break. So there we have it, two weeks of a race through school into a week of finals, two weeks of Christmas break, and another semester of school after that! Well, I look forward to Christmas!

As for movies, I did say Gladiator, The Incredibles, and Pirates of the Caribbean were my most top favorite movies, but those are only under the category of American movies, because Fat Choi Spirit, God of Cookery, and Shaolin Soccer are probably my top favorite Chinese movies, and some are better or worse than my favorite American movies.

I better hurry up with homework!

The Passion

Categories: Everything, Movies

How do you like Macroz v5.1? ;-)

Wow, I saw the Passion yesterday (like it says in the microhaiku - which I set up yesterday). It was tres bien! Still, it was very sad and painful. The movie is more of an experience than anything else. Throughout the movie you feel the pain that Jesus goes through because it so horrible. As when you might usually associate with the protagonist in a movie, you associate with Jesus and feel his pain, but Jesus was perfect, and his burden was the weight of all our sins. Yes, I did cry. I had tears, but I wasn’t in deep uncontrollable crying. Every time they sent the whip flying towards Jesus I felt pain. The worst was when they were nailing him. It was horrible. It was very powerful. And then it is also the truth. The veritas, as they kept saying in the movie in Latin. “Quid est veritas?,” Pontius Pilate asked. Well, Jesus is the Truth, right? Anyway, I also recognized a bunch of other Latin– for example, when the Roman guards were flogging Jesus, they kept making fun of this Roman guy in charge sitting at a desk. At one point, they slammed a whip on his desk. He shouted back at them, “Quid facis?!” That is, what are you doing?! When they were making fun of Jesus on the cross, one of the things they said in latin was Descende!– come down! Yeah, so it was a very good movie, but still very very sad. If you have the time– watch it! But I don’t think I will want to be seeing it again for quite a while. It takes a lot of emotional and spiritual strength. =o

the devil has no eyebrows!

So that’s the macroz scoop of the day.

Time to eat lunch!
